I grew up and went to college in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. All through school I puzzled about what I wanted to be when I "grew up". Once I observed a veterinarian, I was hooked. I graduated from UW Madison Veterinary School in 1998, and have worked in small animal practice ever since.
I have been with Quarry Hill Park Animal Hospital since 2001 when I moved to Rochester. I live with my cat-allergic husband and his adoring 3-legged cat named Charlie, two good kids, Stella the very active golden retriever, a gang of turkeys, a herd of deer, loads of squirrels, swarms of birds, and one dirty raccoon (the last five are unofficial pets that only come around looking for food and the occasional hosta plant).
I enjoy many things including eating goulash, pacing half marathons (which explains the picture above), clean laundry, going for hikes or runs with my dog, reading, outdoor chores, and getting some quality sleep.
Karen Lee DVM started at Quarry Hill Park Animal Hospital in 1997. She is a 1983 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She has spent most of her time since graduation practicing small animal medicine and surgery. However she did do a year and a half of surgical research and one year practicing emergency medicine. She enjoys quilting, agility, fitness, and spending time with her family, 2 mini Australian Shepherds and Papillion.
Bio coming soon.
Dr. Melissa Eisenschenk is a board certified veterinary dermatologist who travels from the Twin Cities and sees patients with ear, allergy, and skin diseases at our clinic once monthly. If our doctors recommend a referral to a dermatologist, please call 763-210-1177 to set up an appointment. Pet Dermatology Clinic website is at http://petdermatologyclinic.com/.
Dr. Renee Dina attended the University of Minnesota for both her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Since graduation, she has practiced small animal medicine and surgery.
Having a love of pocket pets, she has fostered a variety of critters such as chinchillas, sugar gliders, hedgehogs and rabbits for the MN Pocket Pet Rescue. She is currently on the leadership board for the rescue as the Administrative Manager.
When not at the clinic, Dr. Dina's hobbies are traveling, fitness, reading and hanging out with family, friends and her cats. During the pandemic, she started hiking the hiking club trails in MN state parks. So far, she has been to over 30 state parks, with at least 20 more planned for 2022!
Dr. Silverness is a 1997 graduate from the University of Minnesota. In addition to being a general practitioner, Dr. Silverness has special interest in surgery, advanced dentistry, and canine musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
Before coming to Quarry Hill Park Animal Hospital, Dr. Silverness also has many years experience as an ER veterinarian, and has treated exotics and pocket pets her entire career.
Dr. Silverness is married and has two teenage children as well as two cats and a ferret. Some of her favorite past time activities are spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, biking, and weight lifting.
Dr Sargent is a Rochester native who attended John Marshall High School and went on to graduate from the University of MN, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. Her primary interests lie with small animal medicine and surgery as well as pocket pet and avian medicine.
Dr Sargent has had a wide variety of pets share her home over the years and currently has a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Raffie and a Newfoundland puppy named Arthur. For many years she has enjoyed agility training with Raffie. As of late, she spends much of her free time training Arthur. Currently Arthur is learning Rally and eventually she hopes to certify him as a Therapy Dog. Dr Sargent also enjoys staying fit, a quiet kayak trip around the lake up north, gardening, quilting, and travel.
Dr. Martin is originally from Pennsylvania, however he’s been in the Midwest for the last 44 years. He comes to Quarry Hill Park Animal Hospital from northeast Iowa where he practiced for 32 years. Dr. Martin was retired, however, Quarry Hill needed a part time DVM and Dr. Martin couldn't refuse the offer once he met the staff and DVM's at Quarry Hill.
Dr. Martin spends his free time volunteering at Mayo with his therapy dog “Lola”, playing pickle ball, biking, trout fishing, hunting, ballroom dancing, being a part time barista, enjoying concerts and the arts, and being involved in community organizations which benefit others.
